Cassandra Johnson, better known as "Sandy" is employed with MDH as a Grant manager in the newly formed Office of African American Health in the Health Equity Bureau. Prior to this appointment, she was at the Center for Health Equity as a Community Engagement Planner, she also managed contracts during the early stages of the COVID pandemic.  She holds an M.A. in Human Development from St. Mary's University and a B.S. in Bus. Management from North Carolina State University.  She thrives on building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse partners and collaborators to advance community health equity.

She enjoys traveling, mentoring, and any activity that promotes improving literacy!
