This program will explore and commemorate the rich history, resilience, and economic power of Black communities that flourished in the face of adversity. Black Wall Streets, nationally the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and our very own Rondo community locally and others serve as reminders of the strength and ingenuity within Black entrepreneurship.
This discussion will uncover the historical significance of these vibrant economic hubs, their rise, and unfortunately, their tragic fall. However, by acknowledging and understanding the achievements of Black Wall Streets, we can not only celebrate the triumphs but also shed light on the systemic challenges and injustices that led to their decline.
By recognizing the contributions of Black businesses and communities, we can contribute to building a more equitable and inclusive future for all.
